NATCHEZ— Roxian “Roxie” Miller, 67, of Natchez, formerly of Des Moines, Iowa, died peacefully in her sleep Friday, July 26, 2019, at home surrounded by her family.
A funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Basilica, 105 S. Union St., with the Rev. Scott Thomas officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
A memorial mass, followed by burial at Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery, will be at a later date.
Born September 27, 1951, in Des Moines, she is predeceased by her parents, Norman and Phyllis Soroka and her brother, Andrew Soroka, all of Des Moines.
Roxie was a homemaker living in Natchez with her husband of 47 years, Dan Miller. She loved reading, cross-stitch and gardening. She had a grand sense of adventure and loved to laugh. Her favorite flower was the yellow rose.
Survivors include her two children, Stephanie Estes of Webster City, Iowa, and Joseph “Joey” Miller and wife, Michelle, of Walker, Louisiana; four grandsons, Bryan Estes, Marcus Estes and wife, Amber, Xander Miller and wife, Emily, and Jarred Miller and wife, Mikayla; great-grandson, Noah Estes (9 days old); one brother, Rick Soroka of Dexter, Iowa; and four nieces and nine nephews.
The family wishes to thank those who have extended prayers and support for Roxie during her final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on her behalf to St. Mary Basilica.
