VIDALIA— Services for Jennie Tibbs Hagan, 88, of Vidalia, who died Friday, July 5, 2019, at River Bridge Specialty Hospital in Vidalia, will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Vidalia Convention Center.
Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.      
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hagan was born Nov. 26, 1930, in Vidalia, the daughter of Montgomery and Lenora Swan Tibbs.
She was a member of the Esther Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star-Prince Hall Affiliation (OES-PHA) for more than 65 years. In 2010, Hagan was named District Deputy Grand Matron of the Year of the OES-PHA, Louisiana Jurisdiction. She faithfully served with distinction in the following masonic houses: Rosewood Chapter No.65 OES, Fidelity Court No. 20 Heroines of Jericho, Jennie T. Hagan Order of Amaranth, Theodore T. Herbert No. 174 Order of Golden Circle, Jaffa Court No. 158 Daughters AEAONMS Inc., and Faith Court No. 10 Order of Coyrenes.
Hagan was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Hagan; one daughter, Earnestine H. Primas; her parents; and one sister, Mary T. Brown.
She leaves her legacy of quiet, courageous strength and character to her four children, Tanya L. Mitchell of Bowie, Maryland, Jennesia M. Primas of New Orleans, Ernestine David and husband, Tracy, of Cartersville, Georgia, and Ernest Ellis and wife, Phyllis, of Ridgecrest; nine nieces, Carolyn Washington and Joyce Mahaney of San Mateo, California, Velma H. Bryant and husband, Carl, and Gloria A. Palmer, all of San Diego, California, Maxine A. Clemons of Flint, Michigan, Betty A. Mason of Saginaw, Michigan, Carnell L. Allen and husband, Ernest, of Lake Worth, Florida, Odeal A. Bowman of Vidalia, and Brenda A. Bowman of New Orleans; two nephews, Alfred A. Tibbs of San Mateo, and Gene Allen and wife, Bonnie, of Ferriday; son-in-law, William R. Primas of Tallahassee, Florida; godson, James H. Singleton Jr. of Chicago; goddaughter, Rhonda E. Bell of Vidalia; and a number of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
