NATCHEZ — Services for Joseph T. “Tommy” Rouse, 82, of Natchez, who died Sunday, July 7, 2019, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be 10 a.m. today, at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. Scott Thomas officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Rouse was born July 21, 1936, in Natchez, the son of George Thomas Rouse Sr. and Condida Verucchi Rouse.
He was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company.
Rouse was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George T. Rouse Jr. and Billy Rouse.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Bobbie McCrory Rouse; three sons, Joseph T. Rouse Jr. and wife, Teresa, William G. Rouse I and wife, Paula, and Mark A. Rouse, all of Natchez;  four grandchildren, Jennifer Rouse Maher and husband, Ben, of Bovina, Melissa Rouse Nelson and husband, Carson, of Onward, Carey Rouse Kaiser and husband, Andrew, and William Rouse II and wife, Melissa, of Natchez; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Rouse Sr. of Jonesville and Jerry Rouse of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ben Maher, Carson Nelson, Andrew Kaiser, Chris Rouse, Billy Rouse and Will Rouse.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to St. Mary Basilica, St. Jude’s Children Hospital or to a charity of choice.
