NATCHEZ— Services for Rosie Lee “Madea” Moore-Davis, 95, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Martin Luther King Road, with the Rev. Ernest Ford Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home’s Natchez chapel and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Davis was born May 12, 1924, in Franklin County, the daughter of Simon Moore and Annie Bell Fells-Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel Davis; one daughter, Joyce Merrick; four sons, Nathaniel Davis, Douglas Davis, Ivan Moore and Roy Davis; and two sisters, Juanita Seals and Eddice Hunt.
Survivors include one daughter, Anita Manuel of Jackson; four sons, Samuel Davis and wife, Beverly, of Baton Rouge, Louis Davis of Jackson, Robert Davis of Monroe, La., and Anthony Davis and wife, Linda, of Natchez; and a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
