FERRIDAY— Memorial services for David Glynn “Bud” Pennington, 33, of Monterey, who died Monday, May 27, 2019, in Baton Rouge, will be 7 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Byron Gray officiating.

Bud was born March 13, 1986, in Natchez, the son of Sherman Glynn Pennington and Trissie Ames Pennington.
He was a very loving father, son, brother, fiancé, and uncle. He never missed an opportunity to joke and make people laugh or lend a helping hand. He was an avid outdoorsman — he loved hunting, fishing, mud-riding and woodwork.
He was such a hardworking man. He worked 15 years in the oilfield, where he had his second family. He will greatly be missed by everyone who knew him.
Pennington was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, J.D. and Mattie Ames; and paternal grandfather, Glynn Pennington.
Survivors include two daughters, Chloe and Caroline Pennington; his mother; two sisters, Katie Tillman and husband, Dustin, and Laura Tisdale and husband, Garrett; his best friend, Wilson McMillin and wife, Mika, all of Monterey; paternal grandmother, Katherine Mills and husband, Charles, of Jena, La.; fiancée, Ashlyn Caldwell, of Monterey; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends; and his oilfield brothers.
