NATCHEZ— A private memorial service for family members will be held
for Gloria J. “Suki” Butler, 71, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 8, 2019.   
Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Mrs. Butler was born March 10, 1948, in Natchez, the daughter of Margarette Jackson Applewhite and adoptive parents, Willie and Lovie Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents; her mother; one grandson, Terrence Butler; three brothers, Phillip Howard, Willie Adrian Hughes and Charles Evans; and one sister, Laura L. Alexander.
Survivors include one son, Cleon Butler Jr.; one daughter, Cantrice Butler; one granddaughter, Tionna Fields; three grandsons, John Taylor Calhoun, Jason Butler and James Hyche; two brothers, Robert Evans and Michael Arnette and wife, Rose; one sister, Dorothy Matthews; and a number of other relatives and friends.
