WASHINGTON— Services fort David Edward Thomas Sr., 79, of Natchez, who died Thursday, May 9, 2019, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Baptist Church in Washington with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Thomas was born Dec. 4, 1939, in Adams County, the son of Sidney and Mildred Thomas.
He was a member of the Deacon Progressive Club.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronald D. Thomas, Ph.D.; two brothers, Robert L. Thomas and Willie J. Thomas; and one grandson, James Thomas.
Survivors include eight children, David Edward Thomas Jr., Michael Bell and wife, KaWanda, Connie McKeel and husband, William, Leonard Thomas, Gwen White and husband, Ricky, Cheryl Lynn Thomas, Kenneth Thomas and Calvin Thomas and wife, Kehrin; 10 siblings, Willie Thomas and wife, Helen, Shirley Stampley and husband, James, Lucille Robinson and husband, Charles, Gertrude Bell, Charlotte Grace, Barbara Lafford, Susan Hall and husband, Larry, Darnell Thomas and wife, Hanife, and Dr. Lauree Thomas; special grandchildren, Marquise Thomas and Essence Bell; faithful and devoted cousin, Lillie Mae Mosby; and a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
