MAGNOLIA— Services for Charles Edward Butler, 83, of Natchez, formerly of Magnolia, who died Saturday, May 11, 2019, at his residence, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Sherman Missionary Baptist Church in Magnolia, with the Rev. Michael Okins, pastor, and the Rev. Robert Earl Cook officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Cook’s Enterprise Funeral Home in McComb.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Butler was born Sept. 15, 1935, in Pike County, the son of Ernest and Lexine Jackson Butler.
He was retired from the Natchez Port Commission.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Artis T. Simmons Butler; four daughters, Lexie Rainey and husband, Rodney, Calandra Smyly and husband, José, Alethea R. Butler and LaQuinda Butler; mother-in-law, Johnnie B. Simmons; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Thomas and husband, Joe, and Diane Clines Sanders and husband, Fred; and a number of other relatives and friends.
