FERRIDAY— Services for Cyrus J. Green Jr., 65, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La., will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist in Ferriday with the Rev. Don Lucus Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow, with military honors, at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Green was born Nov. 18, 1953, in Ferriday, the son of Cyrus Green Sr. and Viola Davis Green.
He earned an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army after serving his country for two years and four months.
He was a construction worker.
Green was preceded in death by his father; one daughter, Joycelyn Green Heard; and one sister, Mercy D. Green.
Survivors include his mother; four brothers, Archie Davis and wife, Barbara, Richard L. Green and wife, Rhonda, all of Ferriday, Floyd Green and wife, Andrea, and Kelvin Lee Green and wife, Pamela, all of Powder Springs, Ga.; three sisters, Dorothy D. Brown and husband, Midget, and Rose Green, all of Ferriday, and Janice Brown of Champaign, Ill.; a niece who was raised as a sister, Sandra Johnson; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one aunt, Betty Addison of Jena, La.; and two godchildren, Ja’Laila Mays and Aniyah Tuesno, both of Ferriday.
