NATCHEZ— Services for Lepora Green Ellis, 79, of Natchez, who died Friday, April 12, 2019, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. LeRoy White officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Saturday from noon until service time at the church.
Mrs. Ellis was born on Sept. 17, 1939, the daughter of Willie Green Sr. and Emma Hunter-Green.
She was a member of the New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess.
Lepora loved to cook, attend church services and talk to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nine brothers; six sisters; and two grandchildren, Joseph Jr. and Christopher.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Ellis and Lonnie Green, both of Natchez; four daughters, Debra Ellis of Texas, Patricia Green of Illinois, Tonia Velasquez and husband, Edvin, of Minnesota, and Nakisha Ellis of Missouri; one brother, Alfred Green Sr. of Natchez; eight grandchildren, Courtney Ellis, Dhedric Green, Latoya Porras, Jasmyne Ratliff, Keri Ratliff, Adrienna Ferguson, Joseph Ellis and Joci Ellis; four great-grandchildren, Cameron Ellis, Kamonte Ratliff, Tabiano Jr. and Analisa Porras; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
