NATCHEZ— Services for the Rev. Matthew Minor, 57, of Natchez, who died Sunday, April 7, 2019, in Oxford, Ala., will be 2 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Marion Hughes officiating.     
Burial will follow at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Rev. Minor was born on May 31, 1961, the son of Carrie B. Minor and James Minor Sr.
Minor was a 1979 graduate of South Natchez High School.  He was employed with Union National Insurance Company and was the pastor of Wayside Lighthouse Love and Holiness Church. He enjoyed preaching the word, fishing, and watching sci-fi movies.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Alfred Minor.
Survivors include his wife, Celia Ann Minor; his mother; two sons, Corey Chatman and wife, Peggy, and Lashanton Jones and wife, Desiree; four daughters, Lekiesha Bilyard and husband, Robert, A’keia McCollum and husband, David, Terri Minor and Jasper Minor; one brother, James Minor Jr. and wife, Carol; eight grandchildren, Ja’quan, Jessica, Dakeno, Titus, Ethan, Lea, Dominic, Asher; and other relatives and friends.
