NATCHEZ— Services for Evelyn Gertrude Mizelle Halford, 83, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Barksdale officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Halford was born Aug. 16, 1935, in Leaf, the daughter of Fred Mizelle and Minnie Dixon Mizelle.
She was a 40-year employee of National Life and Accident Insurance Company. She was a faithful member of the Jefferson Street Methodist Church. She volunteered many hours as a pink lady at Merit Hospital. She was also a member and served as treasurer of the group supporting Auburn Museum and Historic Home.
Halford was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne F. Halford; and two brothers, Jerry and Donnis Mizelle
Survivors include two children, Debra Halford Landry and husband, Thomas W. and Kenneth Wayne Halford and wife, Nora C.; six grandchildren, Sarah Landry, Maggie Landry, Monique Landry, Chad Landry, Hunter Halford and wife, Jennifer, and Leigh Ann Chafton; six great-grandchildren, Haley and Mason Davis, Race Landry, Macy Chafton, Katie and Allie Halford; and one beloved sister-in-law, Linda Edison.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Halford, Mark Hood, Michael Ikerd, Tom Landry, Chad Landry, Buster Martinez, Mike Metcalfe and Jeremy Edison.
