NATCHEZ — Services for Flavius Freeman, 92, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at Promise Specialty Hospital, will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Doug Broome officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Freeman was a retired accountant and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Natchez where he taught Sunday school for a number of years. He was a past member of various civic organizations. For the past 20-years, he served his community by picking up trash on Melrose Montebello Parkway.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Adelaide Holder Freeman; one son, Kirby Lee Freeman; and a number of brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Ron Freeman and wife, Joleen, and Terry Freeman and wife, Renee; five grandchildren, Raegan Freeman and partner, Matthew Nations, Greg Meyer, Tammie Blackburn, Victoria Blackburn and Jayleen Johnson; two sisters, LA Faye Martin and Shirley Hughey and husband, Bob; one brother, Larry Freeman and wife, Mary; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stewpot, 69 E. Franklin St., Natchez, MS 39120.
