NATCHEZ— Services for Joseph Hardy “Joey” Cupit, 41, of Natchez, who died Sunday, March 17, 2019, in Natchez, will be 1 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Russell Wagoner and the Rev. Norris Curry officiating.
There will be a private family burial for immediate family only under the direction of Laird Funeral Home
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Cupit was born Oct. 20, 1977, in Natchez, the son of Roddy Wayne Cupit and Sandra Prather Cupit.
Joey enjoyed hunting, fishing, mud riding, and spending time with his family and friends. Always quick with a joke and a smile on his face, most of all, he loved to make people laugh.
He was a 1996 graduate of Adams County Christian School. After high school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp LeJeune in North Carolina, where he served three years until relieved of his duties due to medical complications. He returned home to the Miss-Lou area and worked for Diamond Drilling for a number of years.
Survivors include four children, Skyler Magee, Shealyn Cupit, Avery Cupit and Addison Cupit; his mother, Carolyn Prather Davis and stepfather Malcolm Davis; his father; three siblings, Jesse Cupit, Sarah Davis Brumfield and Douglas Davis; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Nate Wellborn, Joseph Guedon, Mitchell Aswell, Sean Patrick, Rick Luss and Skyler Magee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Carney, Brandon Walsworth, Pete Mount and Nolan Blount.
