NATCHEZ— Services for Charlestine Burnette Davis, 80, of Natchez, who died Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. James Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Davis was born Jan. 30, 1939, in Natchez, the daughter of Hugo Davis Jr. and Carrie Davis.
She attended Sadie V. Thompson High School and was employed by the Charity Hospital in New Orleans as a nurse.
She enjoyed fishing and watching television.
Davis was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Davis; and two sisters, Ellen Davis and Celia Dixon.
Survivors include three sisters, Mary L. Green, Dorothea Chatman and Ida Poche and husband, Alphonso; two brothers, Lee Davis and wife, Hollis, and Ernest Davis and wife, Theresa; and a number of other relatives and friends.
