NATCHEZ— Memorial services for Katherine “Kit” Thomas Hightower, 78, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019, at her residence, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Community Chapel Church of God with the Rev. Robby Britt officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Ms. Hightower was born Sept. 24, 1940, in Natchez, the daughter of George M. Thomas Sr. and Mary Alice Druetta Thomas.
She was retired after 48 years of dedicated service from Jefferson Davis Memorial Hospital and Natchez Regional Hospital as a registered nurse.
Hightower was preceded in death by one son, John “Chip” Charles Fowler Jr.; her parents; and one brother, George M. “Buddy” Thomas Jr.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Fowler Walden and companion, Greg Fondren, of Natchez, and Lisa Fowler Byrne and husband, Harry, of Destin, Fla.; four grandsons, Chris Walden of Vidalia and Brian Walden of Baton Rouge, and their father, Don Walden of Vidalia, Sean Byrne of Kansas City, Mo., and William Byrne of Orlando, Fla.; sister-in-law, Billie Thomas; one niece, Laura Pickering; and one nephew, Bill Thomas, all of Wilmington, N.C.
