UNION CHURCH — Services for Mary Ruth Barnes Epherson, 75, of New Orleans, who died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019, in New Orleans, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hickory Block United Methodist Church in Union Church with the Rev. Johnny Irving officiating.    
Burial will follow at the church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Mrs. Epherson was born Sept. 18, 1943, in Union Church, the daughter of Bubba Barnes Sr. and Annie Mae Barnes.
Epherson was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Epherson Sr.; one grandson, Nicholas Epherson; two brothers, A.C. and Joe Louis Barnes; and one sister, Dorothy Barnes.
Survivors include three children, Patricia Ann Woods of Slidell, La., Kenneth Earl Epherson and Percy Epherson Jr. of Marrero, La.; three grandsons, Ricky Epherson and wife, Peniel, Jerviour K. Epherson of Marrero and Brandon Coutler of New Orleans; five great-grandchildren, Cherish Cunningham, Qualee Lemieux, Reid and Rilee Epherson and Arebelle Epherson, all of New Orleans; and other relatives and friends
