Local writers guild to meet Saturday

Calling all writers and aspiring writers: The Natchez Chapter of the Mississippi Writers Guild will host its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the George W. Armstrong Library on South Commerce Street in Natchez.
The meeting is open to all in the Miss-Lou who want to be part of a great group. Published writers and aspiring writers get to network and share their stories and skills. The meeting is chiefly for those in high school and older. We have not yet established a youth chapter.
The Mississippi Writers Guild is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to the literary arts in the Magnolia State. The guild is open to all individuals who wish to connect to writers and those who enjoy reading.
This will be very casual and informal. Participants will have plenty of time to ask questions.
One of the topics will be Getting Started in the Writing Business. We will have a handout for those who wish to have one. Later this spring, we will have another workshop on self-publishing.
In these days of digitized printing and publishing, it is far easier to produce a quality book. We have several self-published authors in the chapter and several who are on their way to their first book.
There is no charge to join the chapter, and only a small fee to join the Guild.
Please stop by, have some refreshments and learn about the group. For more information, please call me at 601-442-0980.
Natchez author G. Mark LaFrancis is head of the Natchez Chapter of the Mississippi Writers Guild.
