FERRIDAY — Services for Nettie Farmer Green, 92, of Vidalia, who died Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Young’s Funeral Home Ferriday Chapel with the Rev. Matt Duff officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Green was born March 22, 1926, in Alexandria, La., the daughter of Percy Hennington Farmer and Mary Inez Farmer.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Vidalia, where she taught the adult Sunday school class for a number of years. As a student at Louisiana Tech, Nettie was active in Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. After graduating, she taught business classes until she retired. Nettie enjoyed reading, gardening and was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Green was preceded in death by her husbands, McRay Sullivan and Henry Gilbert Green Sr.; her parents; and two brothers, William Farmer and John E. Farmer.
Survivors include four sons, John M. Sullivan and wife, Margaret, of Aurora, Ind., Henry Green Jr. and George David Green of Vidalia, and James Green and wife, Aimee, of Luling, La.; three grandchildren, Joni Smallwood, Caroline Green and Samuel Green; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
