NATCHEZ — Services for Thelma Jones, 90, of Natchez who died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, at her residence, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Zion Chapel Baptist Church No. 2 with the Rev. Kareem Jones officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home’s Natchez chapel.
Mrs. Jones was born Feb. 10, 1929, in Adams County, the daughter of Sam Jones and Elvia Ward.
She was member of Zion Chapel Baptist Church No. 2 and served on the mother’s board.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Edna Jones; two sons, Kalip Jones and Richard Jones; four brothers, Johnny Jones, Jimmie Jones, Sam Jones and Preston Jones; two sisters, Dorthy Jones and Edna Jones Strauder; and one granddaughter, Erica D. Jones.
Survivors include five loving daughters, Lauretta Young and husband, Cleveland, Addie Williams, Delores Galbert and husband, Earnest, Augustine Jones and Vanessa Jones; six devoted sons, Booker T. Jones and wife, Blanche, Arthur Jones, Lester Jones, Willie Jones and wife, Angela, Glen Jones and Eddie Jones; one sister, Augustine Reynolds; 44 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
