The Adams County Christian School Rebels rallied from a 3-1 deficit to tie the game with a penalty kick by Nolan Owens with less than two-minutes in regulation. Owens scored all three goals in regulation for the ACCS Rebels. Neither the Rebels nor the Green Wave scored in the first overtime period, sending the game into a second overtime. Samuel Merriett won the fame for the Rebels with less than two minutes left in the overtime period. Merriett, above, is congratulated by his teammates after scoring the winning goal Monday night. At left, ACCS’s Tripp Cotton and Cathedral’s Joseph Garrity battle for the ball during the first half of the match. “To come from behind 3-1 and tie it up, and never quit, never stop, it was probably one of the best come-from-behind victories in ACCS soccer,” head coach Jim Algood said. “Very proud of the whole bunch.”
