NATCHEZ — Services for Mamie Burgess Stephens Hux, 92, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, in Port Gibson, will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou with the Rev. Gary Howington and the Rev. Jeremy Howington officiating.
Burial will follow at Jersey Settlers Cemetery in Kingston under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday, both at the church.
Mrs. Hux was born March 28, 1926, in Lawrence County, the daughter of Daniel Denmond Stephens and Lilly Louella Butler Stephens. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Hux; and two sons-in-law, Peyton Rice and Allen Kennon.
Survivors include three children, Cammie Rice, Polly Kennon, both of Natchez, and Shairod Hux of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Ashton Kennon and wife, Jamie, Lori Warnock and husband, Mickey, Brooke Roberts and husband, Adam, and Whitney Hux; four great-grandchildren, Noah Settoon, Makenzie Kennon, Matt Warnock, and Sarah Warnock; one great-great grandchild, Ryker Anthony Settoon; and one sister, Kary Lack.
Pallbearers will be Ashton Kennon, Mickey Warnock, Matt Warnock, Noah Settoon, Hunter Hinson and Adam Roberts.
