BRANDON — Graveside services for Reba Miller Paul Lum, 95, of Brandon, who died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, with her daughters by her side, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ott and Lee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lum was born Sept. 6, 1923, in Vian, Okla., the daughter of W.R. Miller and Birdie Lee Harrell Miller.
Reba lived her early childhood in Lake Providence, La., then moving to Vicksburg for a number of years before moving to Natchez, where she lived for almost 50 years. She was a resident of Brookdale Brandon Assisted Living for the past six years before moving to Plainview Assisted Living.
She was a devoted member of the Stanton Baptist Church. A celebration of life will be held at the church Feb. 23, 2019, at 11 a.m.
She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She put family above all else, except her Lord. She was an avid gardener and cook, who was well-known for her baking skills as well as her unconditional loving ways. Holidays were always a special time. She felt that was her “gift” to her family.
Mrs. Lum was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert Wilson Lum of Vicksburg and Natchez; seven siblings; one son, William Ferrell Paul of Richmond, Va.; one grandson, David Kiley Byrd; and two sons-in-law, James David Byrd and David Spencer Clifford Sr.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Paul Clifford of Bay St. Louis and Linda Paul Byrd of Brandon; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and a bonus granddaughter, Ashley Babin.
There are no awards or medals that hang on her wall, but there will always be the love, respect and adoration from all that were privileged to know her. The world has lost a truly special lady.
