FERRIDAY — Services for Charles Ables, 82, of Ridgecrest, who died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at Riverland Medical Center, will be noon today at Young’s Funeral Home’s Ferriday Chapel with the Rev. Melton Rushing, the Rev. Bobby Ratcliff and the Rev. Glenn Waller officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Ables was born Feb. 11, 1936, in Gilbert, La., the son of George and Rutha Ables.
He was a member of Clayton Apostolic Church. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Jessie Wallace, Lois Waller and Norma Burns.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Loise Irene Ables; one daughter, Cyndi Losawyer; two grandsons, Kolton Losawyer and Coy Losawyer; children he raised as his own and their 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, Doug Prince, Lynda Feltenberger, Tal Prince, Rodney Ratcliff, Bobby Ratcliff, Belinda Gregory; four sisters, Annie Swillie, Mary Ann Smith, Doris Free and Katherine Ezell; and one brother, Benton Ables.
Pallbearers will be Evan Prince, Ethan Prince, Charles Fred Ables, Pete Ezell and Kolton Losawyer.
