Christmas is behind us, which can only mean that New Year and Mardi Gras are close at hand.

As sad as we are to see Christmas go, we still have much to look forward to in the days and weeks ahead, but for now let us take a look back at the good news from the past week.

4 The Miss-Lou was deep into the Christmas spirit last week with Christmas caroling at First Presbyterian Church, people decorating their houses for the Christmas season, and people were busily shopping to check off the remainder of the items on their shopping lists.

4 Scott Christian helped Santa last week by donning a red suit this year to lead the annual Santa Claus Parade that took to the streets Monday morning, parading through the city before converging on the Braden School auditorium to deliver plenty of goodies to hundreds of good boys and girls in Natchez.

4 The Miss-Lou had a bit of a scare last week as a few onlookers reported a boat driving erratically in the Mississippi River. Law enforcement and rescue workers from both sides of the river converged on the river to search for the boat and passengers. Fortunately, the boat and its occupants were found safe and sound. The scare tested the area’s preparedness and the agencies passed with flying colors.

Thankfully, the incident had a happy ending.
