NATCHEZ — A Natchez man faces felony charges in connection to a Wednesday night drive-by shooting on Stiers Lane.
Natchez Police Chief Walter Armstrong said Anthony Antwain Jackson, 42, faces four felony charges: aggravated assault domestic violence, two counts of aggravated assault, and one count of drive-by shooting. He was being held Friday on $600,000 bond.
Natchez Police Chief Walter Armstrong said Jackson was arrested without incident just before 9 p.m. Thursday on St. Catherine Street.
Armstrong said Jackson fired on two men, Jerald Andre Woods and Devron Deshon Green, when he saw them talking to his wife, from whom Jackson is separated, while parked in front of her house on Stiers Lane.
“He saw that, and she had a few words with him, and he fired a couple of shots toward them,” Armstrong said. “Of course, they all ran for cover, and he went down the street, and he commenced to fire a few more shots in that direction.”
Armstrong said Jackson fired the shots from a graphite gray Toyota Camry LE, before leaving the scene but was identified on a home surveillance camera as he was shooting.
Armstrong said the gun used by Jackson has not been recovered.
Woods and Green were arrested after the Wednesday night shooting for possession of marijuana while in possession of firearms.
Green faces a charge of attempted murder, stemming from a Sept. 18 incident in which he is accused of having shot his brother three or more times.
Green, who is confined to a wheelchair, was released Oct. 2 on a court-ordered medical recognizance bond that did not require him to post cash for his $100,000 bond, authorities said.
