Inclement weather put a damper on and a postponement to a pair of critical MAIS District 5-AAA games that were scheduled to take place last Tuesday afternoon with a lot at stake for three of the four teams involved.

ACCS (11-11, 2-3) was looking forward to hosting Central Private School for not just Senior Night, but with so much riding on the outcome. Now the host Lady Rebels will have to wait until Thursday at 7 p.m. to take on the visiting Lady Rebels. An ACCS win will give it the No. 3 seed and possibly the No. 2 seed.

That would depend on the outcome of the Cathedral Lady Green Wave’s game on the road against the Silliman Institute Lady Wildcats. However, that game was also postponed until Thursday with the junior varsity game at 6 p.m., followed by the all-important varsity game at 7:15 p.m.

A win by Cathedral (10-7, 4-1) over Silliman and the Lady Green Wave will be the outright district champion and the District 5-AAA No. 1 seed for the upcoming Class AAA South State Tournament.

Also postponed on Tuesday afternoon due to the rough weather was Wilkinson County Christian Academy’s home game against MAIS District 4-A opponent Rebul Academy. That game has been rescheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m.
