NATCHEZ — A Natchez man died Friday after a fatal logging accident.

Adams County Coroner James Lee said Robert Galmore, 46, of Wright Logging, suffered a fatal arm injury after he was pinned by a tree on the job at Sligo Plantation off of Hutchins Landing Road.

Lee said the accident occurred at 11:30 a.m. Galmore was transported to Merit Health Natchez ER, where he was pronounced dead at 12:30 p.m.

“An autopsy will be done to determine any other injuries,” Lee said. “I do not expect that there was any drugs or alcohol in Mr. Galmore’s system.”

A toxicology report will be done with the autopsy, Lee said.
