Read elected president of Louisiana Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers

NATCHEZ – Carolyn Read was elected by the Louisiana Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers as president-elect.
Her term began July 1.
Read is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), board approved clinical supervisor (BACS) in Louisiana and a nationally certified member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers.
Prior to her retirement, she held additional credentials as a specialist in school social work and was a diplomat clinical social worker on the national level.
Read was named the 2011 social worker of the year for the State of Louisiana and is a member of Who’s Who of American College Professors. Currently, she is a social worker with Key Rehab Associates, Inc. and has been an adjunct professor for Copiah-Lincoln Community College for 21 years.
As president of the Louisiana Chapter of NASW, she will work closely with the NASW-LA executive director in the identification and forming of recommendations in areas of concern and needs of the National Association of Social Workers membership and social issues associated with social workers’ clientele. Read will preside over all board meetings and chair the executive committee and all committees/task forces.
