RIVER RIDGE, La. — The Vidalia Little League Softball 12U all-stars ended their season Wednesday with a loss to Jackson Parish in the state tournament, 13-6.
Vidalia coach Jaclyn LeBlanc said the game was much closer than the score indicated.
“It was a really good ball game,” she said. “We had one inning defensively with a bunch of errors. They scored six runs just in that inning on no hits, just on walks and errors.”
Despite the loss, LeBlanc said her team proved that the game isn’t all about winning.
“I couldn’t be more proud of how they have improved since the day we started the all-star season,” she said. “They gave me everything they had. That’s all I could ask.
“I know some of these girls will be friends for life now. To me, that’s what it’s all about.”
