VIDALIA — Vidalia police are investigating a July 4 home invasion in which they say the invader violently battered the residents.

The Vidalia Police Department received a complaint at 11:15 p.m. on July 4 of a home invasion, VPD spokeswoman Miranda Clifton said.

Police Friday arrested 28-year-old Christopher Walker on a charge of home invasion and three counts of aggravated battery.

Clifton would not offer further details such as the state of the alleged victims or what led to the invasion, citing an ongoing investigation. No further details would be made public as the investigation continues, Clifton said.
