PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) — A member of a Mississippi school board and her husband are accused of hoarding animals.

News outlets reports Moss Point School Board member Amy Buckley and her husband are each charged with 51 Pascagoula city ordinance violations. The reports say violations include a failure to properly care for animals and the number of dogs in a house.

The Sun Herald of Biloxi reported Monday that the pair turned themselves over to police after several dead dogs were found in a house they own. A person trying to deliver legal documents on June 21 noticed a foul smell coming from the house and called police.

The Buckleys also are accused of aggravated animal cruelty and failure to inoculate an animal.

It’s unclear if Amy and Jeffrey Todd Buckley have lawyers.
