Do your duty and vote in runoff today

Mississippi voters take note: Today is Election Day so please make the time to swing by your assigned polling place and cast your ballot.
As ballots go the two options on today’s primary runoff ballots are tiny.
The Democratic Party’s runoff ballot will have only two names of potential challengers for Republican Roger Wicker’s U.S. Senate seat.
The two Democrats vying for your support are David Baria and Howard Sherman.
On the Republican Party primary runoff ticket another two men seek your support for one of Mississippi’s seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Republicans Michael Guest and Whit Hughes seek their party’s nomination to face Democrat Michael Evans for Mississippi’s Third Congressional District seat in the U.S. House. The seat is up for grabs after Rep. Gregg Harper chose not to run again.
One thing that is important to note is that if you voted in the initial party primary election earlier this month and you vote today, you must vote on the same party ticket.
However, if you did not vote in the June 5 primary, you can vote in either political party primary you wish in today’s runoff race.
Regardless of which option, we urge you to exercise your right to voice your opinions and vote today. Our country’s government works best when more citizens are involved and voting is a fundamental, yet simple, way to become involved.
And given the small amount of opponents on today’s ballots, voting should take virtually no time.
