NATCHEZ — Services for Lillian Taylor Goetzmann, 85, of Natchez, who died June 19, 2018, at Natchez Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Harrigill officiating.  

Burial will be 3 p.m. Friday at Belah Cemetery in Jena, La., under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Goetzmann was born Dec. 26, 1932, in Jena, the daughter of Milton Taylor and Brazzie Whatley Taylor.

She was a retired office manager at Natchez Community Hospital. As a devoted employee of the hospital, she proudly worked there as her sole job. Mrs. Goetzmann was hired before the hospital was opened and worked 30 years until her retirement. Her children and grandchildren were her joy. She was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman J. Goetzmann; one infant daughter, Janis Ann; one sister, Audrey McCaskell; one brother, Ardell Taylor; and three infant siblings.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Etheridge and husband, Glenn, and Annette Mardis and husband, Allen; four grandchildren, Trey Mardis and wife, Mallary, Amy Hawley and husband, T.J., Casey Desselles and husband, Scott, and Lindsey Lazinsky and husband, Nate; eight great-grandchildren, Tucker, Rodney, Caroline and Rivers Hawley, Mc and Lillie Rue Mardis, Lucas and Finn Desselles.

Pallbearers will be Trey Mardis, T.J. Hawley, Scott Desselles, Nate Lazinsky, Jimmy Ray and Will Alexander.

The family request that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
