FERRIDAY — A Ferriday man died Monday evening of a suspected heart attack while driving on U.S. 84.

Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy David Hedrick said Eric Burton, 46, was traveling on U.S. 84 at approximately 6 p.m. when his blue Chevrolet truck left the road and came to a stop in a field near the highway.

No passengers were in the vehicle at the time of the accident, Hedrick said, and no on else was injured.

Though it has not yet been confirmed, Hedrick said the sheriff’s office suspects Burton died of natural death and possibly of a heart attack.
