VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) — Big makeovers are set for two high school buildings in one Mississippi district.
The Vicksburg Post reports that architect Gary Bailey last week unveiled preliminary designs for revisions to Vicksburg and Warren Central high schools.
Each school will get a central forum with a 40-foot ceiling and glass walls to let in plenty of light. Those will be gathering places for students.
Vicksburg High will get a new front entrance extending into the space that’s now the parking lot. Warren Central will have the same entrance, but roads will be expanded.
Each school will get new classrooms, including spaces for career training. Some sports facilities will be updated.
In late March, voters in the Vicksburg-Warren School District approved an $83 million bond issue to finance improvements.
