NATCHEZ — Two suspects charged with firing shots into a Natchez residence filled with children on Easter Day now face additional charges of aggravated assault.

Jehron Jerome Davis, 18, 7 Davis Court, and Adoriyon Shamar Odom, 18, 115 Wisteria St., each face eight counts of aggravated assault in connection with the drive-by incident, in which police say shots penetrated a Miller Avenue house while eight people were inside.

Of the eight occupants, several were small children, police said.

No injuries resulted from the shooting.

Police initially charged the two men with shooting into a dwelling, but after further investigation, the two now face the “much more serious charge” of aggravated assault, with one count for each person believed to be inside the house at the time of the shooting, Armstrong said.

Davis, whom police said they believe was the actual shooter, was held at the Adams County Jail on an $80,000 bond for the additional charges. Odom also remains in the jail, but on a $40,000, as investigators said he accompanied Davis during the drive-by shooting.
