NATCHEZ — A three-car accident sent one person to the hospital and temporarily stopped traffic on the Mississippi River bridge Saturday night, officers say.
Vidalia Police Chief Joey Merrill said the collision happened at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday, and was a “chain reaction” between two cars and a truck.
One person must have braked, Merrill said, and the person behind them did not see the lights, causing the collision.
Only one person was sent to the hospital after their airbag deployed, but Merrill said no serious injuries were reported.
One of the vehicles — the one in which an airbag deployed — was taken away by tow truck, Merrill said, causing only a temporary blockage of the westbound lane of the bridge.
