NATCHEZ — Three Natchez residents, including two juveniles, have been charged with attempted murder in connection to a trailer park shooting.
Karon Cade, 16, Ravon Cade, 17, and Javerius Mosby, 20, all face charges of three counts attempted murder for allegedly shooting at three juveniles Monday afternoon at a trailer park on Redd Loop Road. Both Karon and Ravon Cade will be tried as adults, said Lt. Cal Green, Adams County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson.
Taron Xavier Woods, 18, also faces a charge of accessory after the fact for allegedly driving the three other suspects away from the scene, Green said.
Though investigators have not yet determined a motive, the shooting appeared to target the three juveniles, who somehow escaped the situation unscathed despite 20 rounds of gunfire striking both their nearby vehicle and residence, Green said.
“They were scared to death, but they weren’t injured,” Green said.
Following the alleged shooting, the targets fled in their vehicle. When sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene, neither the victims nor the suspects were present, the sheriff’s office reports.
The victims, however, later returned to the scene and told deputies their account of what happened.
Eyewitnesses said a group of males were fighting, and then shots were fired, the sheriff’s office reports.
The shooters used at least two different types of weapons, Green said, as investigators recovered shell casings of two different caliber bullets.
Nearly a week after the incident, the sheriff’s office was finally able to arrest the suspects over the course of Friday and Saturday. Green said the arrests took a while because the victims were hesitant at first to tell investigators who was shooting at them.
As of Saturday, Karon and Ravon Cade, Mosby and Woods were all in custody at the Adams County Jail with no bond set pending arraignment.
