Nerdy Wolf 5K set for March 24

Copiah-Lincoln Community College Natchez Campus’ Alpha Alpha Zeta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa honors society for two-year colleges will hold its fourth annual Nerdy Wolf 5K Walk/Run at 8 a.m. March 24.
The walk/run proceeds through downtown Natchez and finishes on the bluff.
The event, coordinated by PTK members, helps students learn leadership and organization skills, and it is fun, too.
Participants can run, walk or crawl, and, of course, strollers and furry friends are always welcome.
Stick around after the race for our 1-mile fun run for the kids, too.
The money raised through the event benefits the local PTK chapter by helping fund the organization’s trips and projects.
Although, those are important, the component of giving back is one of the organization’s main goals.
Students have chosen to donate half of all proceeds to the Veteran’s Scholarship Fund for Co-Lin Natchez students who are veterans to help them meet their educational goals.
The proceeds generated by the Nerdy Wolf 5K has helped the endowed scholarship grow.
Not only that, but also they recognize all veterans and family members at the beginning of the race.
Co-Lin has a long history and deep commitment to supporting students who have military service. The college recently earned the 2017 Military Friendly School designation by Victory Media for the seventh straight year.
The Military Order of the Purple Heart also designated Co-Lin as a Purple Heart College for outstanding service to military veterans, service members, dependents and survivors.
Additionally, Co-Lin was named to the Military Times Best for Vets: Colleges 2017. PTK members are proud to support veterans.
The pre-registration fee for the race, prior to March 19, is $25 or $30 on the day of the run. Race day registration and packet pickup begins at 7 a.m. on the Natchez Bluff at the Broadway and Franklin Street Intersection.
