Delta Charter softball wins home tournament Saturday

The Delta Charter Lady Storm softball team won their home tournament Saturday, notching wins over Family Community Christian School and Franklin Parish.

DCS took down FCCS, 12-2, in Game 1.

Makenzie Landers had a home run, batting in three runs to lead the Lady Storm. Skylar Bolyer had three hits herself, ending with a triple, two RBIs and one run scored. Darby Beach also ended with three hits, two RBIs and one run scored.

Haley Sharp, Bailey Yates and Jordyn Sharp all had two hits in the win.

Sydney Watts earned the win in the circle, pitching all five innings.

Watts also earned the win in Game 2, pitching all seven innings against Franklin Parish in the 3-2 victory.

Watts drove in all three runs with a home run in 1-of-2 batting. Beach, Jordyn Sharp and Skylar Hawley each also registered a hit in the win.

The Lady Storm (7-5) broke over even with its wins Saturday. It will be back in action at 5:30 p.m. Monday when they host Mangham.
