NATCHEZ — Two fugitives wanted in connection with the murder of an Adams County man were returned to Natchez from California Thursday night.

At approximately 10 p.m. Thursday, Isaac Garner, 28, 1388 Wildwood Springs Road, Roxie, and Cassandra Trahern, 26, 479 Eagle Road, Vidalia, were returned to Adams County from Fresno, Calif., where they were found in early February.

Garner and Trahern were the last of five people arrested in connection to the murder of Johnny Martin, who was found dead in his front yard with at least two gunshot wounds to the chest on Jan. 26.

Officers with the Fresno Police Department found Garner and Trahern parked outside of a gym, where they had reportedly been living for several days.

Garner and Trahern told Fresno police they were wanted for murder in Mississippi and signed a waiver of extradition not long after capture, Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said.

The sheriff’s office then hired a transport company, which delivered them back to Adams County.

Patten said a deputy would serve Trahern and Garner warrants for their respective charges Thursday night.

“They’re the last two we have to question but that does not mean there are not others out there we need to talk to,” Patten said. “They’re the biggest pieces of the puzzle, but the case is ongoing.”

Of the multiple arrests in connection to the murder, Garner is the first to be charged with murder.

Victoria Jenise Granier-Perry, 45, 489 Cranfield Road, Shaun Michael Latham, 34, and Charles Michael Nettles Sr., 53, 115 Kaiser Lake Road, have each been charged with accessory after the fact to murder in the two months since Martin’s death.

Garner and Trahern were in custody at the sheriff’s office as of 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
