BOSSIER CITY, La. — Steve E. Martin, 59, of Bossier City, La., died Sept. 17, 2017, at his residence from cardiac arrest.

At Mr. Martin’s request, his ashes will be scattered at a later date on his favorite well-site.

He was born May 8, 1958, in Natchez, the son of D. and Catherine Martin.

For six years, he was a member of Company B, 1st Battalion (M) 155th Infantry, Mississippi National Guard. For a number of years, he was a top-notch rig operator in and around Natchez. Also, for a few years, he was a cross-country driver for American Eagle Trucking out of Dallas.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents; and best friend and buddy, Wes Preis.

Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie Ann York and husband, Austin; three grandsons, Barry, Brad and Blake Bolton; the mother of his daughter, Stella Martin Busby; his mother; one brother,  Danny Martin and wife, Sissy; one sister, Lynda Hall and husband, Donnie; two nephews, Daniel Martin and wife, Brittany, and Brian Hall and wife, Angie; two nieces, Amy Kingsafer and husband, Ferrell, and Holly Nunnery and husband, Jon; eight great-nieces, Hailey, Hannah, Sophie, Molly, Lynlee, Aubre, Kaylee and Alyssa; two great-nephews, Hayden and Dannen; grandmother, Alice Jackson; and a number of other relatives and friends.
