NATCHEZ — A Natchez man was arrested Saturday on an indictment for the September 2017 burglary of a local business.
Jerome Robinson, 54, 303 W. Vidal St., was indicted by a grand jury for the burglary of Shala Lounge, and Natchez Police Department Sgt. Felisha Fleming said officers arrest Robinson Saturday at his residence.
Robinson allegedly burglarized the business, located in the 900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Street, the morning of Sept. 14, as officers responded to a call at approximately 6:08 a.m.
Police said Robinson forced entry into the building by dislodging an air-conditioning unit and climbing through the window before loading various items in a white bucket, which officers reportedly later found at Robinson’s residence.
When an anonymous tip led police to Robinson, he reportedly tried to escape but was quickly detained.
Robinson was being held at the Adams County Jail as of Sunday afternoon.
