A Louisiana woman was sentenced Tuesday after being arrested in Adams County on charges of prostitution in early August.
Jessica Rae Piazza, 41, 143 Piazza St., Mansura, La., was arrested on a charge of prostitution on Aug. 15 after Adams County Sheriff’s Office undercover agents solicited her services.
Piazza was released on a bond of $500, but was rebooked for a justice court bench warrant on Jan. 22.
Judge Eileen Maher sentenced Piazza Tuesday to 10 days in jail with a review in two weeks.
Piazza’s arrest was a part of an August roundup of men and women allegedly involved in prostitution.
On Jan. 18, a Natchez man was arrested on contempt of court for failure to appear for his charge of prostitution.
Travis Tirrell White, 35, 9 Spring St., was arrested on a charge of telephone harassing and on a justice court warrant for prostitution.
White pleaded guilty to prostitution and contempt of court for failure to appear.
White’s bond was set at $500, and he was sentenced to 30 days in jail, all suspended, for the prostitution charge and 10 days in jail, all suspended for the charge of telephone harassment.
Two others were originally arrested in the bust: Tameka S. Jones, 37, and Willie Deon Newman, 26.
Neither of their cases has made it to court yet.
