Santa still needs your donations

Tomorrow — a day earlier than is typically the norm — a Natchez Christmastime tradition will roll through the streets of Natchez.
The annual Santa Claus Parade will get under way Saturday this year, since Christmas Eve falls on Sunday this year.
The event will culminate with Santa’s arrival at Braden School and the distribution of gifts for dozens of area children.
The Natchez Children’s Christmas Tree Fund has existed in one form or another since 1900 when it was founded by then publisher of The Natchez Democrat, James W. Lambert.
Relatives of Lambert continue the tradition today and the event could not be possible were it not for the deep generosity of those who give money, time and toys to the cause.
It’s nice to see Natchez donations going directly to Natchez needs.
Organizers say they are still accepting donations and if the donations miss this year’s toy shopping, they’ll roll it to next year’s.
Donations may be sent to: Natchez Christmas Tree Fund, PO Box 1082, Natchez MS 39121, The Natchez Democrat, PO Box 1447, Natchez MS 39121 or dropped off at The Democrat’s office at 503 N. Canal St.
Tomorrow’s cavalcade through town is bound to be loud, bound to be long and guaranteed to be lots of fun and most important, it’s all for a great cause.
Merry Christmas and enjoy the parade.
