Come hear ‘Masterful Musings’ Monday

The Junior Auxiliary of Natchez would like to invite all members of the Miss-Lou to come to our program, “Masterful Musings,” at 6 p.m. Monday.
The program will highlight the String Instrument Program at Morgantown Middle School, under the direction of Patrice Williams.
Many, if not all, of the children had never been exposed to a string instrument prior to this program and now at least two of them have been invited to play in large venues including Carnegie Hall.
There are more than 20 students involved in the program and many of them are thinking of continuing to play their instruments after graduation.
When we learned of the program, and some of the challenges it faces, we wanted to participate. It is our goal to have some instruments donated as well as have funds donated toward the purchase of new instruments for the students in the program. We are well on our way to this goal, but we could use some more assistance.
Monday evening’s events will be free and open to the public. We hope members of the community will join us to enjoy the music these students have been working on this year.
Also, during the two-hour event, we will be asking people to walk through the JA Canteen to see some of the updates and hard work our president, Chassity Cannon, has been spearheading.
The evening will also include music by local performing artist, Taylor Spring.
Please consider joining us Monday evening for a great time supporting a great cause. Thank you.
