Franklin County beats Jefferson County, Bulldogs clinch playoff spot

Franklin County High School earned its first win of the season Sunday afternoon, while also subsequently clinching a spot in the MHSAA Class 3A playoffs.
The Bulldogs took down Jefferson County 31-0 in a game that was originally schedule for Friday night, creating a three-way tie in Region 7-3A between itself, Jefferson County (2-7, 1-3) and Wilkinson County.
Ja’qaveon Anderson led Franklin County, rushing for two touchdowns in the win on runs of 20 and 4 yards.
Keonté Bee caught a 20 pass from Jaquan Brown, and Spencer Romero kicked a 30-yard field goal to round out the offensive efforts. Romero was also a perfect 4-for-4 on extra point attempts.
Javian Moore added a 1-yard interception return for a touchdown for the Bulldog defense.
Franklin County (1-9, 1-3) and Wilkinson County (3-6, 1-3) will begin postseason play this Friday. Jefferson County ends its season.
