NATCHEZ — A Texas man with family in Natchez disappeared just days before a trial began at which he was to face charges for allegedly killing his girlfriend in 2015.

Kevin Michael Waguespack, 34, of Austin, Texas, was charged with first-degree murder for allegedly killing Catherine Dyer at their residence on Nov. 16, 2015.

Freedom Bail Bonds of Austin, Texas, is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to Waguespack’s arrest.

Waguespack was originally arrested in Natchez in Nov. 2015 after he fled to his mother’s house.

He was returned to Texas, where he was ordered to wear a GPS tracking device.

In April, Texas Judge Tamara Needles agreed to the removal of the monitoring device, Freedom Bail Bonds Agent Matt Clark said.

Waguespack failed to appear at a pre-trial hearing on Oct. 19 and Needles ordered a warrant for his arrest.

His trial was set to begin Monday.

Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said he was not made aware of Waguespack’s disappearance until Thursday afternoon.

Patten said his office got in touch with Waguespack’s mother, who said she has not heard from her son.

“We have no indication that he is here,” Patten said.

Waguespack’s mother told the sheriff’s office she has been estranged from her son since the last time he was caught in Natchez.

Patten said he has reached out to officials in charge of Waguespack’s case and will coordinate with them as needed.

Freedom Bail Bond’s wanted poster describes Waguespack as 5 feet, 11 inches tall, 180 pounds and  “considered extremely dangerous.”

The poster warns against attempts to apprehend or contact him.
