CLINTON — The Adams County Christian School cross country team had runners place in the top 10 on both the boys and girls side during the MAIS AAA State Championship meet Tuesday at Choctaw Trails at Mississippi College.
Eighth-grader Rebecca Ratcliff placed seventh individually among the girls, while senior Austin Heard ran 10th for the boys.
Each earned MAIS AAA All-State honors for their top 10 finishes.
“The majority of my girls and guys, including my top five finishers in both races, ran personal bests,” ACCS coach Jheri Dupré Ogden said.
The ACCS girls placed ninth as a team, while the boys placed eighth overall.
“This was our first year re-establishing the ACCS cross country program, and I feel like we succeeded,” Ogden said. “(Cathedral School cross country coach) Tommy Smith and I both have the goal of creating a community of young runners in Natchez.”
